The ACT Lab at Concordia University and the Laboratoire AgeTeQ at the Centre de recherche de l’Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal (CRIUGM) are looking for a Research Associate for a 12-month contract. The chosen candidate will coordinate and undertake key components of an intersectoral, multi-institutional and interdisciplinary research project centred on developing a digital tool to support informal caregivers and older adults in Quebec. The chosen candidate will manage a research project that consults stakeholders in the health, community and research sectors. This will include engaging with multiple organizations to conduct interviews, focus groups and workshops, as well as recruiting research participants. The candidate will oversee coding and transcription of data, and contribute significantly to the analysis and report-writing.
Qualifications and requirements
● A minimum of a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
● Bilingual (French and English).
● Excellent writing skills and fluency in French are essential.
● Excellent organizational and coordination skills, demonstrated through at least 2 years of experience.
● Experience with qualitative research.
● Self-motivated and autonomous worker with a track record of leadership in groups or organizations.
● Familiarity with qualitative coding softwares Atlas.ti, MAXQDA and/or NVivo is an asset.
● Experience with quantitative research is an asset.
● Understanding of the Quebec health and community sectors, as well as clinical settings is an asset.
● Prior experience working on the topics of aging, health, and caregiving is an asset.
Conditions
● The position entails 35 hours per week.
● The planned start date for this appointment is April 15, 2023 (flexible) and the planned end date is April 14 2024. The candidate should indicate their availability in the cover letter.
● The hourly salary of $30 to $36 per hour, determined according to the experience of the candidate.
● The position is hybrid, and in-person work is expected to be done at the CRIUGM and Concordia offices.
● The immediate supervision for this position will be assured jointly by Constance Lafontaine (Associate Director of the ACT Lab) and by Kévin Galéry (Directeur adjoint de laboratoire, AgeTeQ Lab). The Lead for the qualitative portion of the project is Dr. Kim Sawchuk of Concordia University while the Principal Investigator of the project is Dr. Olivier Beauchet of Université de Montréal.
