Mindfulness meditation is increasingly being investigated for its prophylactic effects on behavioral and neural metrics of attentional control. However, neuroimaging investigations of mindfulness meditation, assessing changes in brain dynamics following training, often focus on a select canonical networks. Through a series of independent studies, my lab has recently been focused on deriving and validating whole-brain, functional connectivity markers of attentional control, and relatedly, mind-wandering. In this talk, I will present results of these studies as well as discuss future directions examining changes in these neuromarkers of attentional control following mindfulness meditation.
