INVITATION COCKTAIL, PROJECTION DE FILM ET PANEL
Rejoignez-nous pour un cocktail d’avant projection pour Le cerveau fait son cinéma, dans le cadre du Festival du Nouveau Cinéma. Le cocktail et la projection auront lieu au Cinéma du Musée le vendredi 13 octobre 2023 à 17 heures.
Le cocktail sera suivi de la projection du film Samsara. Réalisé par Lois Patiño, ce long métrage est une œuvre méditative qui offre une expérience audiovisuelle immersive et un point de départ pour une discussion sur l’impact du cinéma sur le cerveau.
La projection sera elle-même suivie d’une discussion avec le professeur Santiago Hidalgo, directeur du Laboratoire CinéMédias de l’Université de Montréal. La discussion réunira des chercheurs de différents domaines tels que le développement de l’enfant, la neurologie et la théorie du cinéma afin d’échanger sur la façon dont la structure même d’un film peut avoir un impact sur notre esprit et notre santé.

Lights, Camera, Action – movies and your brain
INVITATION COCKTAIL, FILM SCREENING & PANEL DISCUSSION
Join us for a special pre-screening cocktail for the Lights, Camera, Action event, at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma. The cocktail and screening will take place at the Cinéma du Musée on Friday October 13, 2023 at 5 p.m.
The cocktail will be followed by the screening of the film Samsara. Directed by Lois Patiño, the award-winning feature is a meditative work that offers an immersive audiovisual experience and a springboard for a discussion about the impact of cinema on the brain.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Professor Santiago Hidalgo, Director of the Laboratoire CinéMédias at Université de Montréal. The discussion will feature researchers from different fields such as child development, neurology, and film theory to exchange on how the very structure of a film can play on our minds and health.
