Dr. Alexander Moreno, Ph.D. Neuropsychologist / Psychologist, Clinical Researcher at the Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal (CRIUGM), Director of the « Innovation, Technology and Cognition (INTECOG) laboratory », and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Montreal is looking for a student in the field of psychology, with a research interest in gerontechnology.
The student, under the supervision of the principal investigator, will be part of the research
team and will work on a research project funded by the Ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie on the use of virtual reality to manage pain and anxiety in palliative care.
By participating in the current research project, the student will have the opportunity to acquire quantitative and qualitative research expertise, in addition to contributing to the development of a 100% Quebec-based technological solution to innovate nonpharmacological solutions in palliative care. It is expected that the student will actively participate in the scientific life of CRIUGM, as well as in the various stages of research including the writing of research protocols and the submission to the research and ethics board, data collection and analysis, and presentations at scientific events.
The student will also participate in other clinical projects conducted by the principal investigator.
Research project:
The objective of this social innovation project is to test a virtual reality intervention (“Come with me”) and explore its effects on end-of-life anxiety and pain in a group of individuals with palliative care and their loved ones.
