Dr. Alexander Moreno, Ph.D. Neuropsychologist / Psychologist, Clinical Researcher at the Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal (CRIUGM), Director of the « Innovation, Technology and Cognition (INTECOG) laboratory », and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Montreal is looking for a student in the field of psychology, rehabilitation or engineering with a research interest in social robotics. The
goal of social robotics is to create robots capable of interacting socially by adjusting their behavior to the emotions of humans.
The student, under the supervision of the principal investigator, will be part of the research team and will work on a research project funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada on the use of on the use of social robotics to support community-dwelling older adults. By participating in the current research project, the student will have the opportunity to acquire quantitative and qualitative research expertise, in addition to contributing to the development of a 100% Quebecbased technological solution to promote home support for seniors within a context of international collaboration. It is expected that the student will actively participate in the scientific life of CRIUGM, as well as in the various stages of research including the writing of research protocols and the submission to the research and ethics board, data collection and analysis, and presentations at scientific events. The student will also participate in other clinical projects conducted by the principal investigator.
