Abstract

Feeling undeserving of one’s position or social status, or feeling incompetent compared to one’s peers, is common… far too common! Since the late 1970s, it has been known that some individuals with clear professional success cultivate doubts and self-questioning about their abilities, to the point of fearing being exposed as impostors. Let us therefore try to understand this impostor phenomenon, which can affect us—at least partially—its manifestations, its mental processes, and some ways to address it.
