Neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease begin years, often decades, before clinical symptoms are obvious, making early detection one of the greatest barriers to developing effective treatments. Earlier and more accurate identification of at-risk individuals will: Enable better participant selection for clinical trials, enrolling those most likely to benefit, accelerate the testing and development of new therapies, and inform future preventive and disease-modifying trials, at a stage when cognitive decline may still be altered or reversed.
