Conférence Midi
Speaker : Stefan Tams, Professor of Information Technologies, HEC Montréal, Former director and current member of HEC Montreal’s research group on Information Systems (GReSI), Brand-new member of the Quebec Network for Research on Aging
This presentation will provide an overview of how aging is studied in the management literature and, in particular, in the management information systems literature. It will discuss the types of questions that are examined (e.g., how aging affects performance on IT-enabled job tasks), the types of research models that are used to examine them (e.g., variance-based mediation models), and the types of methods and measures of cognitive aging that are employed (e.g., large-scale surveys that include mental rotation tasks). Then, it will illustrate these concepts by means of several published articles. Finally, it will discuss common implications for researchers and practitioners. The presenter seeks feedback on how to improve knowledge creation in this area theoretically and methodologically.
