Jason KaramchandaniPh.D. Associate Professor, Departments of Pathology, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Institut-Hôpital neurologique de Montréal

In 2016, the Montreal Neurological Institute became the world’s first health science center to formally adopt an Open Science Framework. One of the founding principles of Open Science (OS) at the Neuro was the creation of an Open Science biorepository. This required developing a novel scientific platform with a framework that respected and embedded OS best practices. This talk will summarize the efforts of operationalizing the Neuro’s OS combined biorepository and patient registry C-BIG, and addresses wins, mistakes, and the Many lessons learned.
