In this time of pandemic, the CRIUGM is committed to respecting all safety standards in effect and ensuring a safe environment for participants.
Thank you for contributing to the advancement of science!
It is a list of adults, young and old, who wish to participate in the Centre’s research work and thus contribute to the advancement of knowledge on aging.
Most of the research conducted at the center is focused on aging. Topics include memory, nutrition, hearing, exercise, vision, urinary incontinence, Alzheimer’s disease, language, rehabilitation and others. You can consult the annual report of the research center or browse the website (www.criugm.qc.ca) to learn more.
The projects are varied and will be explained in detail when the coordinator contacts you. They may involve answering questionnaires, doing physical activity, memorizing a list of words, or doing exercises with a tablet or computer. Some projects also measure pelvic floor muscle strength and tone. We sometimes offer projects that can be done online, in the comfort of your own home. Find out more!
Any adult over the age of 18 can register and participate.
When you are called for a study, you may not agree to participate; your choice is completely free. You simply have to tell the person who contacts you that you live in the bank but are not interested in this particular project.
You can register by filling out the online recruitment form. Please read the consent form before registering. Registration can also be done over the phone, simply contact the coordinator and she will call you!
Contact 514 340-3540 ext. 4150 or write to participer@criugm.qc.ca.
Absolutely. In fact, you have a section in the recruitment form where you can specify this when you fill it out.
By registering in the participant database, you agree to receive a request to participate if you match the type of profile sought for one of the CRIUGM research projects.
You may decline to participate in a research project at any time. There is no obligation. You can always ask to have your name removed from the participant database.
FALSE. Only the coordinator of the participant database and the researcher in charge have access to your personal data. They will only communicate your personal data to the researcher in charge of a project if your profile corresponds to the type of participant sought.
You are always welcome at our center. The bank coordinator will be happy to meet with you and answer any questions you may have to clear up any concerns you may have. However, it is preferable to make an appointment before coming in.
