On the occasion of International Women’s Rights Day, two of our researchers talk about the importance of women in research.
It’s well known that women are under-represented in research. That said, it’s not just a question of the proportion of women.
In fact, the search for creative solutions to various societal issues requires researchers to bring unique perspectives to the table, and only gender and cultural diversity in research will enable us to achieve this.

“I strongly believe that science thrives in the presence of a diversity of ideas, views and approaches, and the inclusion of people with varied perspectives and lived experiences.
Given that women make up more than half of the world’s population, it should not be that women scientists are an exception. Instead every little girl who dreams of being a scientist should know that her perspective will be invaluable in furthering progress.”
