Outgoing CRIUGM Scientific Director Sylvie Belleville received an honorary doctorate from the Academic Council of the University of Mons. The ceremony was held on October 1, 2021 due to the pandemic.
Psychologist, Sylvie Belleville is a researcher at the CRIUGM and a full professor in the Department of Psychology at the Université de Montréal. Internationally recognized for her work in neuropsychology of dementia, she has contributed to a better understanding of how memory changes with age, in Alzheimer’s disease and in mild cognitive disorders. Her honorary doctorate is the highest distinction that can be awarded by a university and recognizes the importance and excellence of her work to date.
