Alexander Moreno obtains funding from the Ministère de l’économie et de l’innovation

Congratulations to Alexander Moreno, Clinical Researcher at the Research Centre of the Institut Universitaire de Gériatrie de Montréal (CRIUGM), who was awarded $256,752.38 in funding ($199,448 of which comes from the Ministère de l’Économie et de l’Innovation – MEI) as part of the calls for projects in social innovation launched by the Ministère de l’Économie et de l’Innovation for the year 2020-2021.

The total cost of the selected projects is estimated at $8.5 million. This is the only project selected in the “Aging and Living Together” category for the Université de Montreal and one of two projects to be carried out at CIUSSS du Centre-Sud-de-l’Île-de-Montréal (CCSMTL).
Dr. Alexander Moreno is also a neuropsychologist at Notre-Dame Hospital (CCSMTL) and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of the Université de Montréal.

Project title: The ADel domestic assistant for the elderly: an innovative approach to promote autonomy, facilitate continuity of care, break social isolation and counter the deleterious effects of the new coronavirus pandemic.

This project proposed by Dr. Alexander Moreno aims to study the feasibility of an innovative technology (Electronic Home Assistant, ADel) to maintain the autonomy of elderly people after hospitalization.
This project is the result of a collaboration with the Institut Universitaire de Gériatrie de Montréal (CCSMTL), the company SoftBiomed and the Université de Montréal.
