Biography

Guylaine Ferland graduated from Université de Montréal with a PhD in nutrition after which she pursued post-doctoral studies at the Human Nutrition Research Centre on Aging at Tufts University, Boston. She is full professor at the Department of Nutrition of Université de Montréal since 2003 where her research programme focuses on vitamin K metabolism during aging as well as on the nutrition problems of institutionalized elderly.

Research interests

Guylaine Ferland’s research programme focuses on the role of vitamin K during aging, more specifically on the action of this vitamin in brain function. In parallel, she conducts research aimed at identifying the determinants of nutrition status of seniors living in geriatric settings.
