After a few years in occupational therapy, Louise Demers turns to research and obtains her PhD in biomedical sciences (rehabilitation) at the Université de Montréal (1999). She then completes a postdoctoral training in epidemiology at McGill University (1999-2001).She is actually Associate Professor at the School of Rehabilitation, Université de Montréal and senior “chercheur-boursier” from the FRSQ.
My research activities express three main areas of interest related to geriatric rehabilitation: i) technical mobility aids; ii) measurement and evaluation (development, analysis of measurement properties and cross-cultural adaptation), and iii) social participation of community-dwelling seniors with and without disabilities.
