Biography

Ana Inés Ansaldo is a Full Professor at the School of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, Faculty of Medicine, Université de Montréal. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Université de Montréal and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at McGill University (Montreal Neurological Institute).

She is the recipient of several awards, including the Special Award from the CIHR Institute of Aging (2002), the Venezia Prize (2007), the Award of Excellence for Innovative Clinical Research Experience from the Association des établissements de réadaptation en déficience physique du Québec (AERDPQ) (2009), and the Award of Excellence from the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (2012).

She leads the Brain Plasticity, Communication, and Aging Laboratory at the CRIUGM.

Research interests

Her research focuses on communication disorders in aging, and on the normal and pathological processes underlying communication across the lifespan (bilingualism, neurodegenerative diseases, stroke). She also develops customizable therapeutic interventions aimed at improving communication and well-being between individuals with neurological conditions and their caregivers.
